On February 10th the Latin American Centre of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CiEmprender) will be launched at the Park Inn Hotel in Costa Rica

The initiative has been developed with the support of ParqueTec and seeks to strengthen the development of projects for the entrepreneurial sector through the analysis, study, debate and promotion of public policies’ development.

Luis Álvarez Soto, general director of CiEmprender, has stated that during the inauguration day several institutional conventions will be signed, and a panel that addresses the Latin American entrepreneurship situation will be developed.

Participants of the panel include: Isaac Lucatero, director of the Leon campus of the Technological Institute of  Monterrey and partner of technological, consulting and risk capital firms; José Luis Uriarte, consultant on the design and implementation of policies that support entrepreneurs in Chile; and  Camilo Montes, manager of the National Association of Business Owners of Bogota, Colombia.

The CiEmprender will focus on providing support to the creation of new organizations that promote and generate strategic information to strengthen entrepreneurship. It will also encourage the creation and development of processes and methodologies that promote the entrepreneur culture.

In addition, the CiEmprender will support the design and development of systems and mechanisms that facilitate the access to resources for new startups.

The centre will also provide training in entrepreneurial leadership for the financial sector, businessmen, managers and the public sector.
