The “I Meeting of Ministers of Labour: Labour Agenda of countries of the Pacific Alliance” is being developed on December 14th and 15th in Lima, Peru. The meeting seeks to promote the exchange of experiences in the labour area in member countries –Mexico, Chile, Peru and Colombia-.
The goals of the event include exchanging knowledge on youth employment policies developed and implemented by member countries of the Alliance that have reached OECD standards.
Furthermore, attendees shall analyse the implementation of mechanisms that enable joint actions in labour matters –such as work plans, research, agreements, etc. – among the countries.
In addition, during the meeting the institutionalization of the “Vacation and Work Program” shall be promoted. This program allows young people from 18 to 30 years old to visit countries of the Pacific Alliance and work part time to pay for their stay.
During the event a job fair will be developed, in order to show the foreign delegations the successful products of the Ministry, such as the Centre of Employment and its 12 services, the fair “Formalízate Ahora” –Become formal now-, which helps employers to formalize their business and make the most of it.
