Do you recall that resume you safely store in your computer, and update when an interesting labour opportunity comes so that it matches your social networks’ profiles? Well, by the 2020 that resume will seize to exist. Five years from now sending text files will be almost an extinct practice in companies. The reason is that social networks and mobility will change the way in which people look for a job and relate among themselves.

Currently, recruiters still request that candidates send a Word format resume and, even though some Recruitment departments are more dynamic and use new technological trends to find talent, the reality for most companies is quite different.

However, a research developed in 2014 by SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management), found that only 4% of people who have access to the internet do not use social networks. A small percentage, as 70% of Facebook users are adults. In addition, 47% of employees were born after the 80’s, and most of them belong to Generation Y.

We cannot deny that new media will expand the possibilities of contact between candidates and recruiters. The dynamic and speed of updates, the availability of relevant information, such as professional references, shall facilitate the search of talent. The major responsibility of these changes falls on technology.

Resumes as we know them today will soon be over. Conventional resumes are not dynamic and do not keep up with the rhythm of update professionals have. These workers usually have profiles in several job search sites, as well as in social networks and keep their resumes safe as a text file. Text resumes are not dynamic as professionals find it difficult to keep their profiles updated in every platform while taking care of the conventional resume.

Consequently, the optimization of resumes’ delivery, whether through a link, a video or other dynamic tools, will be a reality for enterprises in every industry. Companies will use data, intelligence and social networks to make the search for the ideal candidate an easier process.
