Employment expectations in Argentina for the 4th quarter 2017 were around 8%, showing the highest rate in three years.  

 

According to a report developed by ManpowerGroup, the current net employment expectation in Argentina is the strongest in over three years.

Around 75% of companies said there will be no changes in their payroll during the last quarter of 2017, while 13% said they will be hiring new employees, and 6% expect a reduction of their payroll.

“Once the information is adjusted to seasonality, the Net Employment Expectations is +8%, which is the strongest in over three years” claims the report developed by ManpowerGroup.

In addition, “hiring plans remain rather stable when compared to the previous quarter, and improve by 3% when compared to the previous year”.

It states that among large companies (over 250 employees), the rate goes up to 18%; among small and medium companies it goes down to 9% and 7%, and to 1% among companies that have 10 to 49 workers.

When analyzing per sector, “construction employers report the strongest hiring intentions, with an encouraging neat employment expectation rate of 24%”.

The manufacture sector showed a positive rate of 9%; Finances, Insurance and Real State, and Services reached 8%, and Agriculture and Fishing, Public Administration and Education, and commerce reporter a 7% rate.

“The weakest sector is Transport and Public Services, with a +3% rate”, stated the study.

When compared to the report for the third quarter 2017, “hiring expectations go down in 5 of the 9 industrial sectors”.

Finances, Insurance and Real State “is the sector that weakens the most, with employers reporting a 6% decrease”, followed by commerce, which has a 3% decrease.
