50 college students were awarded with the first edition of the Friends of Fulbright scholarship, a program that enables Argentinian students to spend from 6 to 8 weeks in universities of the United States.

The scholarship aims to benefit students of 3rd and 4th year with excellent academic performance in degrees such as Business Management, Economics, Education and Political Sciences, granting them a chance to attend classes at an American college.

Noah Mamet, US Ambassador in Argentina, was a great promoter of the program, which he considers a priority. “We are the first embassy that launches this sort of initiative and next year we want to send more students”, he explained.

Mamet attended meetings with several companies and organizations to convince them to join efforts with the US embassy to finance the program.

The winners of this program come from 24 universities and represent round 20 cities. The students will be divided into three groups and attend lessons at the University of Texas, the Central Arkansas, or Mount Holyoke College.
