Think about any Smartphone, maybe the one you are holding right now. Imagine touching a button and the screen unfolding, reaching twice its’ size, like a book. We would be talking about a tablet and a phone. All in one.

The term phablet (phone+tablet) we use when referring to large screen smartphones would make more sense. However Samsung has called this device fablet (foldable+tablet).

Indoors this project is called Project Valley and rumors of these devices being officially launched very soon are rather strong. In fact, we could know them soon, in January 2016.

According to gforgames.com, the foldable phone Project Valley is being tested in two configurations: one with a Snapdragon 620 SoC, and another with a high performance and powerful processor: the Snapdragon 820. The only thing know about this last processor is that it will be released in the market in 2016, and consequently Samsung would be one of the first developers to try it. The device could have 3GB RAM, a microSD card slot and non-removable battery.

There is no information about how it will look, but Samsung made this concept video that shows a mobile the size of a visit card that unfolds becoming an agenda, unfolds once again to become a video phone and once again to open a magazine or newspaper.

Innovation will come in 2016 with Samsung’s fablets.
