The importance of people – Even with economic difficulties, Europe trust and invest in human capital, this is the conclusion of a report done by World Economic Forum, which measures the economic potential of countries based on labour force. First Latin American country is 35°

122 countries have been analyzed taking into consideration four indicators (education, health, lifestyle, employment and a facilitating environment.

Among the first ten countries, 8 are Europeans. The best mark is for Switzerland thanks to the highest punctuations in employment and lifestyle.

Singapore is in the third position with a high punctuation in education and employment and Canada is the last of the top ten, with an excellent punctuation in education.

It is important to remark that Spain is 29th because of health and lifestyle. The unemployment situation generates a 105 position in the general unemployment rate and 100 in the youth one.

The report considers the human capital as a key factor in the economic success of nations in the long term.

As the Executive President Klaus Schwab, founder of WEF, says and claims “the key factor for the future of any country or institution is based on the talent, skills and capacities of people”

The report also shows the urgent need of investment in the first steps, and also later in the cycle of labour life so as to generate a better performance of people and in the economy of the country.
