Randstad Holding announced the acquisition of twago, a Europe-based freelance marketplace with over half a million registered workers.
twago’s platform will enable Randstad and its Randstad Sourceright organisation to accelerate clients’ freelance talent strategies and provide a more holistic and integrated way to manage the total workforce.
Freelance workers are becoming increasingly important to many organisations’ talent management strategies. According to experts, online platforms for freelance and contingent workforce will grow by more than 40% a year for the coming five years.
Randstad CEO, Jacques van den Broek, stated, “The acquisition of twago follows our success with RiseSmart, the first step towards offering new services through digital transformation. The addition of technology and business models that enrich our value proposition to clients and candidates is part of our ‘tech & touch’-strategy.”

Founded in 2009, it is a platform for freelancers’ talent in Europe. The company received an investment from Randstad Innovation Fund in July 2014.
