“Young people must be the leading actors of the country’s development. Therefore, Panama needs to be ton education” said Luis Ernesto Carles, the Minister of Labor of Panama.
Panamá Pro Joven wants to be an alternative to link young people and companies, enabling proper labor opportunities that fit the apprentice’s experience and the profile required by companies.
The program is currently focused in the provinces of Chiriquí, Veraguas, Herrera, Los Santos, Coclé, Panamá Oeste and Panamá.
Minister Carles said to young people that learning responsibilities from a job, skills from a trade, is promoting the development of men and women who are capable of fearlessly assuming the challenges of the future.
The goals of the program seek to provide young people with tools to develop socioemotional skills that can be applied at their jobs, such as: team work, assertive communication, critical thinking, rational decision making and emotional intelligence, among others.
“The MITRADEL wants to promote a vision of work that becomes a satisfaction instead of an obligation, which provides life and happiness. If we want fairer and more caring society, more inclusive and sustainable economies, we must bet on changing the way we relate, foster dialogue. Panama Pro Joven is each of those things. It is also a school for businessmen and for ourselves, in the pursuit of a fairer and more inclusive country”, concluded Carles.
