The new brand will acknowledge public and private companies and organizations that build the future through innovative startups

Peru has a new brand to recognize the talent and effort of its entrepreneurs. Perú+IN was born to promote the development of an innovation culture that has a positive impact on public and private companies and entities in every level.

“We have created a brand that aims to be a reflection of Peru as a country that promotes, awards and develops creative minds, and is under the service of society”, pointed out Magali Silva Velarde-Álvarez, minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism and president of the Executive Council of PROMPERU.

Peru+IN launched during LAB4+, the innovation and entrepreneurship forum organized by the Pacific Alliance, developed in Lima. The new brand is the result of over more than two years of work, which started with a convention between PROMPERÚ and IPAE to find ways to uphold innovation as another tool to promote the country’s image.

Seeking to develop an emblem for Peruvian companies that stand out due to their significant bet on innovation, PROMPERÚ called a public tender and hired Icono Comunicadores, a Peruvian company specialized in branding.

“Through this brand we want to create value, think about the future and become a mean to find new ways to do things and transform environments, generating positive changes, developing products with added value”, stated Velarde-Alvarez.

According to the public servant, innovation is closely linked to competitiveness, generation of employment and economic development. Using tools such as Perú+IN, the State intends to develop a more favourable environment to foster innovative initiatives.

The presentation of Perú+IN was a key moment during the first day of LAB4+, the 4th Entrepreneurship and Innovation Forum of the Pacific Alliance. The event had world level keynote speakers, such as: the creator of Waze, Uri Levine; Adam Gutstein, vice-president of PwC Global; Gloria Guevara, Special Advisor on Government Affairs in Harvard; Carlos Osorio, International Faculty Fellow at MIT Sloan School of Management, among others.
