The Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950XL are coming and with them Microsoft fulfils its promise of providing a pocket size computer that works as a smartphone or as a conventional computer by using an adaptor. This can be done as the devices use Windows 10 Mobile, the same system that computers and tablets have, as well as universal applications that adapt the interface to the screen size of the device being used.
The Lumia 950 has a six-core chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 and a OLED 5.2 inches screen; the 950XL, a Snapdragon 810 and a 5. 7 inches screen; both have QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage – and a Split to extend the memory-, a 20 MP camera with triple flash, Carl Zeiss lenses, f/1.9 opening, images optic stabilization and 4k video recording.
In addition they have a 5MP front camera with iris recognition (via infrared) to unlock the pone and USB-C connector (reversible) with the quick charge Qualcomm solution (Quick Charge 2.0) for the 3000 mAh (950) or 3340 mAh (950XL) battery.
When the pone is connected to a special base (the Display Dock) it can be linked to a monitor, a keyboard, a mouse, and become a desktop computer, using the same apps and storage content of the phone. The dock has a HDMI connection and DisplayPort, USB-C output to charge the pone will being used and USB peripheral outputs.
Certainly, an interesting proposal of Microsoft
