The Argentinian, Luciano Fontana, was appointed as new General Manager of Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco & Spa, replacing the Brazilian Mario Leite, who had been appointed in the position in June 2013.

Fontana comes from Sofitel Rio de Janeiro and was also leading the Caesar Park Ipanema by Sofitel for two years. Prior to that, he managed Softitel Buenos Aires Arroyo for two years.

About his new challenge, the executive stated that Sofitel Carrasco “is a unique hotel. It is extremely hard to have any competition. Similarly to what happens in Paris with certain palaces, it is not necessary to say that this is a five stars hotel.”

The new manager of Sofitel Carrasco sees great potential in the corporate area and has pointed out that the hotel offers ideal spaces for business meetings and conventions.
