The Italian’s Senate Labour Commission, while debating a new Employment Act, proposed by the Government of Matteo Renzi, has unanimously approved the amendment that allows workers to “give vacation days as a gift” to their colleagues when they need to provide particular care to their children.
The text states that the “the acknowledgement of the capacity of transferring among employees the total or partial amount of vacation days granted by collective bargaining, together with the right for weekly rest days and paid annual leave, in order to favour parents of children who need constant care and physical presence.”
