Part-time and subcontracted workers are the ones recovering US’s economy.

During the 80’s, subcontracted workers represented less than half of 1% of the entire American labour market. Today, they represent 2, 3%.

The most prestigious economists in this country forecast that this category of workers will have a progressively more important role in the following years.

Bruce Josten, Executive Vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States, established that some people do not want to be hired full time. They desire to work by contract. Others believe that an employment contract will lead them towards a fulltime job.

Tendencies are clear. As time goes by, more and more people look for safety and flexibility when developing their careers. They resort to companies that may adapt to the labour’s market volatility in a fast and effective way.

Latin America needs to make its’ labour markets more dynamic, guaranteeing workers rights and providing professional and reliable solutions to companies when administrating their human capital.
