The new dean of the Complutense University (UCM), Carlos Andradas, presented the academic roles of his team and raised to the vice-chancellorship’s rank new areas such as entrepreneurship, employability and communication.
Andradas, who assumed his role leading the largest university in Spain, introduced the team that will manage this prestigious university during the next four years.
The new general secretary is Matilde Carlón, professor of Administrative Law, who assumed her position together with the rest of the team, such as the vice chancellor of Academic Policies and Faculty, Mercedes Gómez.
Juan Tejada Cazorla (Statistics and Operational Research) will lead the vice-chancellorship of Institutional Planning and Evaluation, while Isabel Durán (English Literature) will be responsible for the university’s International Relations and Cooperation.
Ignacio Lizasoain (Pharmacology) will be in charge of Scientific Policies, Research and Doctorate, and Jose Manuel Pingarrón (Analytical Chemistry) will be responsible for Knowledge Transference and Entrepreneurship.
It is rather interesting the importance that the UCM has given to Employability, providing the subject the rank of vice-chancellorship. The person responsible for Permanent Training, External Practices and Employability will be Lucila Finkel.
Carlos Andradas, professor of Algebra, won the elections with 60.05% of votes during the second round, beating his rival and former dean, José Carrillo who had 39.6% of votes.
