On Tuesday, the Spanish Minister of Employment and Social Security, Fátima Báñez, and the Argentinian Minister of Labor, Jorge Triaca, signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation and technical assistance in labor and social security matters.
The convention states the importance of strengthening the bilateral relationships between both countries to contribute to the economic and social development. The collaboration will be focused on labor inspections and tackling labor informality, in the areas of Social Security, employment and professional training, as well as on migration and mobility.
In terms of inspection, the health and security conditions at work will be controlled and the struggle against any form of labor exploitation will be pursued.
In the area of Social Security, there will be cooperation between both countries’ pension systems, including special systems or regimes of independent workers, domestic workers, and rural workers, as well as the complements of the pension.
As regards employment and professional training, the exchange of information and better practices regarding entrepreneurship and youth employment will be promoted.
Finally, in terms of migration and mobility, better practices on migratory dynamics will be shared, including the integration of migrants and vulnerable groups in the labor market.
