The Peruvian Ministry of Labour and Employment Promotion (MTPE) reported the creation of Labour Skills’ Committees in the sectors of tourism, construction and sanitation. The goal of these committees is to promote the improvement and development of employability, business competitiveness and labour productivity.

The committees are entities that promote dialogue and agreement and seek to identify and prioritize needs linked to labour skills in the economic activities already mentioned. In addition, they will survey the needs of labour training and continuous learning that the companies have.

According to the MTPE the committees will help reducing the supply and demand gap there is in the labour market.

The Labour Skills’ committees are formed by representatives of every entity involved and will be responsible for passing, planning, managing, coordinating, organizing and guiding actions and activities that aim to develop taskforces.
