Colombia was no. 65 among the 127 economies surveyed by the Global Innovation Index. The countries that reached the top positions in the ranking were Switzerland, Sweden, Holland, the United States and the United Kingdom. In Latin America, the country is no. 5th in terms of innovation, following Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Panama. Colombia’s score went from 34.2 in 2016 to 34.8 in 2017.
Due to these figures, the country will be hosting once again the Fisheye Studio, one of the biggest innovation events for businessmen and managers. The great added value of this event is that participants may learn and apply Design Thinking methodology to their business, a technique that is being implemented by the largest companies in the world.
The event will take place on September 28-29 in the hotel Cité in Bogota, and will have Raj Bhargava, professor of entrepreneurship and Design Thinking of Stanford University as a special guest.
This year, “every attendant will have the opportunity of working on a particular problem of their business. They will be taught how to handle and learn from failure, as it is a human approach to create solutions. This space will help them understand the problems of users and their needs; they will quickly comprehend their clients’ emotions, having a unique and competitive advantage in the market” said Raj Bhargava.
Innovation will be the main topic, the methodology will be based on “design focused from the human being”, looking for empathy as the first stage of the process. For that reason, Isabel Espinosa, business administrator and founder of Fisheye, thinks that this event will enable attendants to bring a relevant business problem and work of the possible solutions using this method, with the goal of improving their competitiveness in a changing and increasingly technological market.
During the event, 5 key phases of the method will be experienced and applied.
