Until October 16th 2016, students will be able to submit their proposals for the 4th version of the National School Innovation Contest “AprendoEmprendo”. The event is organized by PuntajeNacional.cl, with the support of Corfo and the University Adolfo Ibañez.

The initiative encourages teams formed by two students and a guiding teacher, to present an idea through the platform Aprendoemprendo.cl, to improve something in their community. The team can correct and improve the proposal during the year, using multimedia tools and comments to better explain the goal they are aiming for.

A jury will choose the best proposals, which will make it to a grand finale. During this phase of the contest, the teams will travel for three days to Santiago de Chile, to receive professional training about entrepreneurship and innovation.

Once training is completed, finalist teams will present their projects to another jury. The two best proposals will be awarded. The team that gets the first place will win a trip to Silicon Valley, San Francisco, California, to visit Facebook, Google and Apple’s offices, among cradles of entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, each member of the team that gets the second place will be awarded with tablets.

The goal of the contest is to foster entrepreneurship and innovation at school, based on two cores ideas: to become the most important contest of this kind in Latin America; and to promote the development of public policies to make innovation become part of the official agenda of the Minister of Education.
