Between the current month and June, this amount of jobs will be created to attend the demand of 3.6 million tourists.

The World Football Cup will create 47.900 new Jobs, according to the Trade of Goods, Services and Tourism National Confederation (CNC in Spanish).

The Confederation based this on the calculation that around 3.6 million tourist will arrive to the country, according to Embratur estimations.

The Ministry of Tourism has reported that the number of tourists estimated corresponds to half of the total amount of national and foreigner visitors that the country shall receive over the entire year.  That movement shall stimulate the services’ sector within the economy, which will raise the rhythm of hiring as the demands grow during the World Cup period.

The CNC established that activities such as accommodation, food, transport, travel agencies and cultural and recreational services will create 47.900 new Jobs between April and June. This is around 38.1% of the job vacancies created in Brazil during 2013 and 35.2% of the vacancies expected for the current year.

Food services, such as bars and restaurants, will generate 16.100 jobs, which is 33.5% of the total; it is followed by passenger transport services (29.2%, or 14.000 new jobs); and hostels, inns and similar accommodations (25.7% or 12.300 new jobs). Together, these segments come up to 88.4% of the new jobs that will be created for the World Cup.

The CNC detailed that both Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will concentrate more than half (52%) of the new Jobs created. It is in these two cities that the opening and closure of the World Cup shall take place.
