Andrea Ávila, CEO of Randstad Argentina and Uruguay and Representative of the Argentinian Network of the UN Global Compact, was a speaker at the Women’s Empowerment Principles Forum, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The panel “The Future of Work” focused on the impact of globalization, demographics, climate change, and geopolitical transformations in the world of work. Avila addressed the gender situation given the changes that are taking place in the labor environment.
“We have to make the most of this popular claim, this social demand, this debate that sounds loudly in different sectors and in the entire world about the need for a cultural change, to turn it into a trigger that may lead us to action to take the quantic leap we need to build an equalitarian society for men and women”, she said.
The Women’s Empowerment Principles Forum was created to achieve one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the UN. In order to do so, UN Women, UNGC and UNOP gathered to summon the private sector and debate continuous and successful commercial initiatives that may empower women, and foster economic inclusion on a global level.
