Amazon created 10.000 jobs during 2015. By the end of June 2015 it started operating in Mexico. Will this be the year of expansion in Latin America?

Amazon created 10.000 new jobs in Europe during 2015 and is expecting to keep on hiring during 2016. The 2015 growth shows +50% more employment creation than in 2014.

According to Europa Press, the company is investing to expand its European network of logistic centres, to increase its R+D projects based in the European Union and build new infrastructure to provide support to its growing business of “cloud computing”, among other initiatives.

With the increase of demand by users, new opportunities of innovation and business growth come. This enables the company to invest in new jobs with the goal of satisfying customer needs. The profiles needed go from computer engineers to workers for the logistic centres.

The multinational company has invested over 15.000 euros since 2010. From infrastructure to operations in Europe, Amazon manages over 80 offices.

Recently, new investments to open headquarters in the UK, as well as a new data centre for Amazon Web Services customers (infrastructure that shall support the operational centres of Frankfurt and Dublin). This will demand hiring more computer engineers and software engineers for the European network of 12 R+D centres, due to the increasing innovation.

On June 30th, amazon.com.mx received its first order; a USD 15 purchase from a buyer located in Tlanepantla, state of Mexico.

Will 2016 be the year for Amazon to expand to Latin America?
