IESE Business School of the University of Navarra, Spain, developed the fourth edition of the IESE Index Cities in Motion 2017, which included 180 cities from 80 countries.
Mexico City moved forward 13 places in the ranking that measures sustainability among the main cities of the world and the life quality of its citizens, and is now in the Top 3 of Latin America.
Buenos Aires is at the top of the regional country, followed by Santiago de Chile.
The index analyses 79 indicators of ten different areas: Economy, Technology, Human Capital, Social Cohesion, International Outreach, Environment, Mobility and Transportation, Urban Planning, Public Management and Governance.
The Top 3 most sustainable cities in the world are New York, London, and Paris, with scores of 100, 98.7, and 91.97, respectively.
In Latin America, Buenos Aires city earned position 83, with 63.32 points, followed by Santiago de Chile (position 85 with 62.74 points), and Mexico City (62.22 points).
