The Peruvian Minister of Production informed that 837 projects coming from every corner of the country passed to the evaluation phase of the fifth edition of Start Up Peru, which provides seed capital for the emergence and consolidation of companies with innovative products or services.
The number of projects represents an increase of 25% in comparison with the number of candidates of the previous edition. For the first time ever, applications were received from every corner of the country, and Lima, Arequipa, La Libertad and Piura are the ones that gathered the largest share of projects.
StartUp Peru will finance the projects elected with Nonrefundable Resources of up to PEN 50,000, in the category “Innovative Entrepreneurs” and up to PEN 150,000 for the category “Dynamic Entrepreneurships”.
For the case “High Impact Companies”, addressed to young firms that are innovative, show sustained commercial growth, and have potential to become international, could be financed with up to PEN 500,000.
The competing projects will be evaluated by a team of international and national experts that will consider the degree of innovation of the project, business model, high impact potential, and capacity of entrepreneurial team, among other factors.
