The president of the Confederation of Production and Trade (CPC), Alberto Salas, spoke at the National Summit of Companies (Enade) 2015 and received applauses for his clear and powerful speech.

“Our country’s context puts us in a leading role in a way we do not like and makes us no good. The collusion offends thousands of businessmen who compete loyally on a daily basis to carry out their business. And mocks millions of citizens who trust that market and competition enables them access to good and services at a fair price”, he said.

The President of the CPC strongly condemned the unfair practices and pointed out that, as part of a guild, he stands for the principles of freedom, democracy and competition as the “only” way to achieve the development and growth of people – “and not because of their privileges”.

Salas stated that “we cannot tolerate any advantage that puts free competition and ethics to test, no shortcuts to gain market share, no bribery to evade our obligations to our customers and society”.

He urged the audience to revise corporative governments and empower efficient comptrollerships.

Chile is in need of fair practices and good reforms. Today, instead of keep on starting new reforms, we need to make better the ones we already started”, he concluded.
