According to the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC), revenue for the executive search and leadership consulting industry grew by 10.7% in 2014, achieving estimated industry revenues of USD 11.7 billion worldwide last year.
Annual revenue growth was supported by a 2.5% rise in the volume of new executive searches, as well as an increase of 2.9% in the value of individual search assignments and an average revenue rise of 11% per consultant increased.
North America remained the largest market for executive search and leadership consulting in 2014 with a 43% global market share, followed by EMEA at 33.4%. Asia Pacific accounted for a 17.3% market share, with Latin America at 6.3%.
As regards major industries surveyed, Industrial continued to hold the largest share of worldwide senior executive search and leadership consulting activity with 25.3% of the 2014 market, followed by Financial Services (20.5%), Consumer Products (17.9%), Technology (15.3%), and Life Sciences/Healthcare (13.2%).
