After the unexpected passing away of Alejandro Estrada, the Argentinian Fintech Chamber has appointed a new president: Juan Pablo Bruzzo, cofounder of Moni.
“We were all shocked by the regrettable and unexpected passing of Estrada. He was a clear role model of the Argentinian and Latin America Fintech industry, and a key element for the development of the chamber, always providing his strategic and global perspective”, said Martín de los Santos and Alejandro Cosentino, vice-presidents of the institution.
Bruzzo has a degree in Industrial Engineering from ITBA, and a MBA from IAE. He was Marketing Director at DeRemate.com and on 2006 he founded DineroMail. Back in 2013, together with Estrada, he created Moni, a company where he currently is CEO.
“This appointment brings along a huge challenge for me, as it means continuing with the legacy of a great entrepreneur, a partner, but, most importantly, a friend. I will work with pride and responsibility to achieve Alejandro’s dream: developing the Fintech industry in Argentina as a mean to reach education and financial inclusion”, said Juan Pablo Buzzo, after his appointment.
Only 9 months ago, 13 founding companies developed the Argentinian Fintech Chamber (123Seguro, Afluenta, Bitex, Increase, InvertirOnline.com, InvoiNet, Mercado Libre, Moni, Motormax, Poincenot, Primary Ventures, VU, Western Union). The chamber has already included over 80 new members. The industry is going through a great period in Argentina, and has huge growth prospects.
