For the first time ever, KPMG Argentina will be part of the international innovation Competition “KICC 2019” for university students in Buenos Aires.

In February 2019, the team that shall represent Argentina in the contest will be selected. Winners will be awarded with training scholarships and labour opportunities.

KPMG Argentina and Phillips Foundation, will organize the international competition “KPMG Innovation and Collaboration Challenge (KICC) 2019”, where teams from 26 countries compete.

There will be teams from different universities, among which the winner will represent Argentina in April 2019.

“I am certain that youth talent is the main agent of change, and the KPMG Innovation and Collaboration Challenge is a unique opportunity for them to express their ideas and challenge them to empower young people and encourage them to generate a real and sustainable change in the future. The KICC is a unique learning experience, where young people can explore new ideas and experiment in a real business environment with global leaders”, said Andrea Oteiza Centrón, Deputy Head People KPMG Argentina.

The Argentinian competition will be developed on February 19th and the challenge will be: what sort of innovations will help to empower people in vulnerable communities so they can control their own healthcare and welfare?

The international competition will take place from April 8th to 11th 2019, and the challenge will be defined the first day of this phase. Local participants, grouped in teams, may apply until November 29th through the website of the KPMG Innovation Factory.

From November 21st to December 13th, a jury appointed by KPMG will select the top 10 ideas following this criteria:

– Innovation and disruption: is the idea/concept innovative and disruptive?

– Realistic: is your idea realistic and viable in the next five years? Special attention will be paid to the tentative implementation chronogram and estimated costs.

– Impact on the theoretical customer

– Impact on the community/customer

– Pitch: oral presentation and backup documents and files.

The 10 teams will be summoned to participate in person in the national competition. The teams will develop the idea presented in the Enrollment Platform to take active participation in the workshop developed by KPMG and present the project to the judges.

The entire activity will be developed exclusively in English. The requisites to participate are:

– Making a team of four people and enroll in the Enrollment Platform. Citizens of any nationality will be able to participate as long as they are regular students at an Argentinian University.

– Students must be above 18 years old, following a college degree and they must be in the first three years of university –having at least one year left to finish their studies- by the time of the international competition (April 2019). Students cannot be ending their studies or following any kind of postgraduate studies.

– The competition is open for students of Economic Sciences (Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration), and similar courses with Science, Mathematics, Technological and Engineering (STEM) subjects. Each team should have at least one STEM students. In addition, every team must have at least one man and one woman, and they must all have an advanced English level.

The winner Argentinian team will be able to participate in the international phase of the contest and will earn a scholarship per student to follow a course in a digital skills development program in a prestigious institute in Argentina, to be defined by KPMG

The team that wins the international competition, will get the award granted by KPMG International.
