Javier Goñi is the new general manager of Ledesma, the leading agroindustry company in the area of sugar, paper and fruits. Goñi is 53 years old and from 2008 till 2017 he was the general director and vice-president of Alpargatas SAIC. The new general manager replaced Javier Crotto, who is retiring from management activities, but will remain a member of the board of directors.

Married and with three daughters, Goñi is an industrial engineer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires and with an MBA from the University of CEMA. He started his professional career in Techint, as a young professional, and worked for 11 years in Unilever, where he was brand manager; marketing manager; sales director Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay; and Marketing VP & Hair Innovation Center Director. From 2001 to 2006 he was Managing Director Central America & Caribbean of Kimberly-Clark, and later became vice-president for Latin America for SwissJust.

 

About Ledesma

Ledesma SAAI, was founded in 1908 as a sugar mill in Jujuy. It is an Argentina agroindustrial company that employs almost 8,000 people as is the national leader in the sugar and paper markets, which it produces using the fiber of sugar canes.

Ledesma is also the main national producer and exporter of oranges and grapefruits, it has a business of wet corn mill, and produces meat and cereals.
