On May 23rd and 24th, Costa Rica will join the list of countries that simultaneously celebrate the international competition “24 hours of Innovation”, an activity promoted by the Canadian institution L´École de Technologie Supérieure. This year it summons students from five public universities to test their business challenge solving skills, addressing problems proposed by real companies inside and outside the country.

Every year, this competition simultaneously gathers over one thousand students from all over the world. During this 11th edition of the contest, it expects to summon students in Costa Rica from the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR), the Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC), the Universidad Nacional (UNA), the Universidad Nacional Estatal a Distancia (UNED) and the Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN).

The activity’s goal is to promote innovation culture for it to become a key element for countries’ development in the knowledge society and for its participants to develop an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.

About the competition

“Les 24 h de l´innovation” is an international competition with over 1,000 contestants from the five continents of the world organized by L´École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) from Canada.

This initiative has encouraged the participation of universities from every continent, such as Brazil, France, Belgium, Senegal, among others. The Universidad de Costa Rica hosted the competition for the first time in 2015.

Innovations developed during the competition can be used by whoever wants to do so.
