The National Learning Service (SENA) certified 157 FARC members (60 women and 97 men) who are located in the Zona Veredal Transitoria de Normalización (ZVNT) of Yarí, La Macarena (Meta). This people were certified in Information and Communication Technologies, Agroecology, and basic gastronomy.
According to SENA, the process “aims at supporting the consolidation of a long-term, stable peace, and is linked to the task that SENA develops in 25 of the 26 ZVTN, which’s goal is to train the future unemployed people of this guerrilla for employability and productivity.”
The general director of SENA, María Andrea Nieto, pointed out the commitment of FARC members due to their responsibility during the learning process.
“For SENA, it is key to ensure the importance of every person that is part of our entity, and under no circumstances can we avoid the certification of these 157 personas who are re-entering civilian life”, said Nieto. She also expressed her satisfaction regarding the fact that those who started the training process, were able to conclude it.
SENA reported that 389 members of FARC were trained at the Meta: 55 in horticultural crops and porcine reproduction, 102 in Basic Cooking and Information and Communication Technologies, 122 in Information and Communication Technologies and Agroecology, and 110 in Gastronomy and Agroecology.
