The future of work seems to have a large tendency in this mode of employment. To many professionals it has already become a reality that allows them to properly combine their labour and private life.
A research conducted in 17 countries by Michael Page Interim Management throws positive appreciations towards Interim Management.
7 out of ten professionals described their experience as positive or highly positive. 8 out of 10 employers state the same results.
Among 2054 companies surveyed, almost 62% consider that the main reason that leads them to apply interim management is the necessity to fill a temporary management position. Other reasons were: to hire external experts (59%), to fasten change and restructuring processes (49, 3%) and creating an opportunity to identify candidates for permanent positions (47, 2%).
4 out of 5 employers are satisfied or very satisfied with interim management hiring and 9 out of 10 companies believe that the necessity of hiring interim management shall prevail or increase.
In fact, in some countries, interim management became a life style considered as profitable to combine private and labour life.
According to the research, among 8740 professionals surveyed, the main reasons for accepting a interim manager job position were:
• To widen the professional network (75, 7%).
• To remain as economically active in the current uncertain context (70, 9%).
• To develop professional skills and competences (68, 4%).
• To increase the chances of finding a permanent job (60%).
Interim management projects are frequently related to international projects. Among professionals surveyed, 71% considers the possibility of working in an international level or has already done so.
This mode of temporary hiring is becoming more frequent for high management positions, with a high level of specialization and responsibility. Over 45, 2% of employers surveyed consider that positions related to Accounting and Finances, immediately followed by technical positions are the most demanded, particularly in emerging countries, such as those in Latin America.
The authors of the research consider that interim management is one of the main tendencies globally.
