IBM Mexico announced the appointment of Eduardo Gutiérrez as President and General Manager. The Mexican executive will follow Antonio Martins, who has been appointed as President of IBM Brazil.

Gutiérrez Gómez has worked in several positions prior this current challenge. He was VP of Sales of IBM Mexico in 2017, and Commercial Director since 2011.

His main goal was the geographical expansion of the company, managing a coverage of 28 cities, and 7 regional offices IBM Monterrey, IBM Guadalajara, IBM Toluca, IBM Puebla, IBM Merida, IBM Tijuana and IBM Querétaro. Gutierrez Gomez’s work provided the organization recognition as one of the business units with largest grow on a global level.

Gutierrez Gomez leadership and experience in IBM goes back to 1993, when he became Manager of Commercialization of Printer and Supplies. From 1997 to 2004 he was part of the Financing team.  In 2001, he became the Director of this unit, position that he held for three years, managing the financing offer for clients and credit risks management of the operations generated by IBM Mexico. In 2005, he was appointed as Director of Business Associates and Partnerships, and from 2006 to 2011 he was responsible for the Direction of Software of IBM Mexico and IBM Central America. During that period of time, he achieved the largest growth of software supply market share on a global level.
