The pursuit of talent for jobs linked to bitcoin and cryptocurrency has shown significant growth in the past few years in Linkedin and Upwork. Both platforms claim there has been a rise in the list of skills linked to digital coins and blockchain technology.
The largest share of jobs published in LinkedIn for the cryptocurrency industry, are for the area of software development, and Bloomberg reports that this is the situation for nearly 70% of the job offers linked to this industry.
Jobs linked to cryptography have grown 460% when compared to three years ago. In addition, the sector with the largest growth rate for jobs linked to cryptography has been finance services, with a 900% growth rate over the past three years.
In the past few years, Bitcoin has emerged considerably, reaching a major adoption of cryptocurrency. LinkedIn reflects this trend, stating that there are 28 times more profiles that quote skills linked to cryptocurrency than four years ago, and 550% more people state they have skills linked to bitcoin.
In addition, the freelance platform, Upwork, reported a growth of skills linked to Blockchain, which became the second sector with faster growth in the website during the third quarter 2017. Furthermore, it reported a 2,625% growth in the revenues for freelance jobs linked to the Blockchain industry when compared to 2016.
The global adoption of cryptocurrency is currently estimated at 0.25% of the global population, twice the number of consumers that the internet had back in 1994. The University of Stanford expects to offer a detailed course on cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology.
