The Ecuadorian government, through the Technical Secretariat of Youth created on August 14th 2017, will promote the creation of 200 thousand jobs for young people by 2021.

The initiative also expects to deliver productive credits, to develop productive startups with an investment close to USD 300 million by 2021, said President Lenin Moreno.

Another program presented was “Impulso Joven”, which will address employment with tax incentives, labour intermediation, the creation of a youth employment job board, and training.

According to the chief of state figures, in little more than two months, the government has granted over USD 30 million in credits for young people’s startups.

Over 200 thousand young people are unemployed in Ecuador. The Minister of Social and Economic Inclusion, Iván Espinel, pointed out that the program seeks to solve that problem.
