The Brazilian Minister of Labor, Ronaldo Nogueira, received the members of Fenaserhtt’s (National Federation of Trade Unions and Human Resource Companies, Temporary Work and Outsourced) council in Brasilia (DF) last week, to continue the negotiations aimed to stimulate the creation of jobs in the country through temporary labor. It has been the second meeting to work on this issue.
Fenaserhtt presented a detailed report to the Ministry of Labor that justifies the reasons and stipulates the economic benefits for Brazil if certain regulatory instructions, which are in conflict with temporary work Law no. 6,019/74, are revised.
The minister and his technical team praised the report developed by the Federation.
According to Vander Morales, president of Fenaserhtt and Sindeprestem, a new meeting is expected by the beginning of September. “We invited the minister to implement changes before the end of the year’s temporary hiring begin. With amendments to the Regulatory Instructions, we shall be capable of employing over 100,000 people and improving the employment possibilities of the country”.
Modifications requested by Fenaserhtt to the Ministry of Labor do no entail altering labor regulations or diminishing workers’ rights. “Our sector helps reducing informality and increasing federal, local and social security taxes. It also encourages first employment, paid practices and training”, he added.
“The initiative that Fenaserhtt presented to the Ministry of Labor in Brasilia, clearly represents a significant step forward. Revising these Regulatory Instructions as soon as possible is key to promote the end of the year’s temporary hiring, which are very important in the Brazilian market, particularly among young people”, Martin Padulla, Founder and Managing Director at staffingamericalatina, business partner of Staffing Industry Analysts, said.
