The company Telefónica performed the Global Millennial Survey 2014 to 6700 Latin American, United States and Western Europe youngsters. Interesting concepts.

 

Young people between 18 and 30 years old want to be entrepreneurs. This is one of the conclusions of the Global Millennial Survey 2014, as over 72% of youngsters believe they have the opportunity of becoming entrepreneurs in their countries.

On the other hand, employability seems to be one of the greatest concerns among young people. Over 60% of the survey respondents said his main concern is education.

In our region, around 42% showed dissatisfaction with their educational systems.

On a global scale, 60% of surveyed young people says that improving the educational system should be a number one priority for the governments and they expect improvements in the quality of the educational plans.

Other issues that worry Latin American Millennials are poverty, corruption and economy. Half of the survey respondents stated that having a paid job is the most important thing.

Mobility seems to be a trend that has come to stay. Around 71% of young persons would be willing to travel abroad in order to get their ideal job. In Latin America such percentage increases to 81%.

80% of respondents have a smartphone and 45% own a tablet. Most of them say they use technology on a daily basis, mainly to deliver text messages, make phone calls and access the social networks.

 

Half of the respondents said that mobile technology has significantly transformed education and investigation.
